Yesterday I hosted my first CreoleNatural event: A 2020 Vision Board Party!!! It was an amazing experience, and I am so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and spoke it into existence even though I wasn't sure exactly how I would pull it off. To quote a great man and leader "faith is taking the first steps even when you can't see the whole staircase." Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
First, I want to say a big thank you to everyone who attended; I hope you left feeling empowered and ready to achieve your goals. One of my goals has always been to curate events in my community for women to meet IRL, network and connect with one another! Thank you for making this goal come true for me last night. The magic in the room and positive vibes, I can't find the words to describe; you just had to be there!
It's so important to have a clear vision for your life. Life can be unpredictable and not everything is in our control, but if you don't have any direction/vision for where you want to be, life will happen without your input. I do believe in the power of positive thinking, positive affirmations and self-love, and this is why I felt compel to host this event. I wanted to gather a group of women together and for us to fellowship, network and set our intentions on living our best life. The mind is so powerful and what we think is what we become; therefore, if we can focus our thoughts on positivity and visually see where we want to be in the future, we can focus and concentrate our energy and resources on those particular areas of our lives that we want the greatest change and transformation to occur. We have entered a new decade and the new year symbolizes a restart button—it presents an opportunity for us to pause, re-evaluate things and manifest our greatest desires. At the event, we had an activity where we went around the room for everyone to share one thing they're excited about and/or ready to pursue in 2020 and that exercise was so powerful! Thank you to everyone who shared something from the heart, and I am glad that I could create a safe space to allow you to be open, honest and vulnerable.
I hope to keep the momentum going and host more events in the future for women to connect, empower and celebrate one-another. Cheers to achieving our goals one day at time, one step at a time, one foot in front of the other and throughout the year continuously make PROGRESS towards achieving our goals.
