Gabrielle Union-Wade Celebrates Creole Culture with NY & Co. Summer 2020 Collection

Updated: Jul 14, 2020

Actress, Gabrielle Union-Wade's new summer 2020 NY & Co. collection is inspired by the rich history, art, music and dance culture of Miami, in particular the historic Little Haiti!

The actress/designer collaborated with the brand to create a vibrant, colorful, tropical and bold collection that celebrates diversity and the beauty of Creole culture. The Print Tie-Waist Skirt and the Abstract Print V-neck Romper are my favorites from the collection, and it looks like NY & Co is having a sale so check them out if you're shopping for new summer clothes. Gabrielle is known for advocating for diversity and inclusion so it's no surprise that she's celebrating Creole culture in such a positive way. The campaign for the collection was shot in various Little Haiti locations including the Little Haiti Cultural Center, Historic Hampton House, African Heritage Cultural Arts Center and MMJ Beauty Salon, a local beauty salon in the community.

At a time when brands are looking to bring in more diverse talents and fresh ideas to the table, the Little Haiti collection is a testament to the fact that there is beauty in diversity and representation matters. We love Gabrielle Union even more now for celebrating our culture and rich history. She is also serving looks rocking these gorgeous box braids, and I may or may not be spending my Saturday braiding my hair now lol. Braids are such a great summer protective hairstyle, especially when they are as stylish as Mrs. Union-Wade's.
